Rumor Roundup: The Futures Of The Hardy Boyz, City To Host Upcoming WWE PPV, More

3) John Cena’s Reaction To Nikki Bella’s Engagement

News broke this weekend that Nikki Bella got engaged to Artem Chigvintsev. Nikki started dating Artem after she split up from John Cena.

Hollywood Life has a report on its site about how John Cena is taking the news. Here is an excerpt from their report:

“John is very happy for Nikki and her engagement,” a source tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY. “He is very happy that she has found someone that treats her so amazingly well. Nikki was an extremely important part of John’s life so it does remind him of what they had and he is also reminded of his proposal to her at Wrestlemania a few years ago but he also has thought that they have both grown from their relationship and they both have moved on.”

My Take:

  • The Miz and Maryse should have gone over at Wrestlemania 33! I am also happy to see that both Cena and Nikki are doing well.

2) The Latest On The Status Of Matt Hardy

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Matt Hardy’s contract with WWE expires on March 1st.

Matt and WWE are apparently far apart on contract negotiations. Here is what Johnson wrote:

Since this has come up a few times recently, Matt Hardy’s current WWE deal expires on 3/1, so if he does not come to terms on a new deal, he would be free to appear anywhere on that date. Hardy has obviously been preparing for a potential exit with his “Release the Delete” videos online and we are told that the major hurdle between the two sides is how he would be used going forward, not money.

My Take:

  • I definitely see Matt leaving WWE for AEW. He seems big on creative freedom, which AEW seems to be big on. Plus, Hardy is good buddies with the Young Bucks. This is a move that makes sense.
