Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE Changes Their Recruitment Strategy
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has changed their directive when it comes to recruiting talent. WWE is now back to wanting to sign younger and bigger guys.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
While there will always be exceptions, when it comes to trying out talent, the directive from above has changed, wanting younger and bigger guys again, which was the only doctrine that got changed when they wanted to take the ROH thunder years ago when ROH got hot and was after the great workers who were often smaller, not necessarily old but not young (as defined as mid-20s or younger).
My Take:
- WWE has a ton of great workers in the company right now, so I am not surprised to see them go back to signing people who they can mold from scratch.
4) Why Big E & Aleister Black Missed Smackdown
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Big E and Aleister Black not appearing on Smackdown this week was a creative decision. The company decided to push things for a week to let the storyline breathe.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
A few readers wrote asking why there was no follow up on Aleister Black attacking Big E on tonight’s edition of Friday Night Smackdown.
We are told that was actually a creative decision that was made to let the story hang for a week so as not to rush the feud So, for once, it was a case of creative letting things breathe.
We are told Black was at TV, as was Big E. They easily could have followed up with a Black promo but opted to hold off to slow down the story.
My Take:
- This seems a bit dumb to me. They could have had a small segment or something. This just tells me creative couldn’t decide what to do and pushed it for a week.
