Rumor Roundup: The Current Mood Among WWE Employees, WWE Changes Plans For Debuting Superstar, More

3) Why Kyle O’Reilly Missed NXT This Week

The Undisputed Era lost to Matt Riddle and Timothy Thatcher on NXT this week. You likely noticed that Kyle O’Reilly was not with The Undisputed Era for the match.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Kyle O’Reilly did not work NXT because of the risk associated with the coronavirus. This is because O’Reilly has diabetes and is at a high-risk:

“Kyle O’Reilly wasn’t there because of diabetes, and you know, too much of a high risk. He might not be around for a while.”

My Take:

  • Never going to fault someone for looking after their own personal health. Like Roman Reigns, O’Reilly is making the right decision.

2) How Much Money WWE Saved From The Releases

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE will be saving around $8 million a year after their recent releases.

Here is what he said:

“All of these people throughout the course of a year make up $8 million in salary. All of the cuts combined, roughly 8.”

My Take:

  • WWE was handing out some massive contracts over the past several years. I always figured that it would come back to bite them and it did.
