Rumor Roundup: Something Big Planned For The Opening Of WM 37? Two Matches Planned, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Two More Matches Planned For Wrestlemania 37

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, WWE is planning two more matches for Wrestlemania 37. One of these will be a multi-team match on night 1, which involves some woman’s tag teams. The winner of that match will go on to face Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on night 2.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources the current plan is to hold a multi-woman tag team bout the first night of Wrestlemania 37, Saturday 4/10.  We have heard it may be a four team bout but that could change.  Material was taped at today’s Raw taping to set that match up.

The plan is that the winners will advance to Night Two of Wrestlemania to challenge WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler on Sunday 4/11

My Take:

  • My prediction is that it will be Lana and Naomi winning. We will have to wait and see though.

4) John Morrison’s Status

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that John Morrison is still dealing with a knee injury. That is why Morrison and Damian Priest have not been added to The Miz vs Bad Bunny at Wrestlemania 37.

Here is what Meltzer said:

The one thing that was interesting if you noticed that when they did the physical stuff after the video and Morrison didn’t do anything the reason could be that it’s a singles match and not a tag is Morrison’s knee. Remember when Morrison hurt his knee? He’s been walking around and I’ve been watching him move and he does have a knee injury.”

My Take:

  • The singles match between Bad Bunny and The Miz will still be good. They can use heavy interference from both Damian Priest and John Morrison on the outside of the ring so Bad Bunny doesn’t have to do it all by himself.
