Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE Bringing Back Some ECW PPV’s?
WWE has recently filed for the trademarks of two ECW PPV’s from the past. These filings are for ‘Barely Legal’ and ‘Cyberslam’. Here are what both of the trademark filings say:
“a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information.”
The speculation based on the wording is that these could be used for a future WWE event of some sort.
My Take: I am not sure if a ‘Barely Legal’ PPV would fly these days. ‘Cyberslam’ sounds like fun though.
4) Rumor On The Possible Plans For NXT At Wrestlemania 36
According to journalist Tom Colohue, there is some buzz backstage that Wrestlemania 36 could feature a match involving NXT talent this year.
Here is what Colohue wrote:
NXT talent will be sticking to NXT from here on out, at least until Survivor Series comes around next year. While that is the case at current, there is a growing voice suggesting that an NXT match should be on the WrestleMania card.
My Take: Adam Cole vs Pete Dunne proved than an NXT match can mix in well on a WWE main roster PPV. I wouldn’t mind seeing an NXT Championship match at Wrestlemania 36 but it would depend on what it is.
