Rumor Roundup: Scrapped Plans For A Title Change In WWE, Upcoming WWE PPV Schedule, More

3) The Latest On Lars Sullivan

A few days ago, some videos surfaced of Lars Sullivan working out. This led to speculation that he could be returning to WWE soon.

According to Ringside News, Lars’ return is complicated. Here is what the site wrote:

Ringside News has learned that Lars Sullivan is returning, but the timetable isn’t know. It’s not because of his physical situation with any injury.

A writer with very close knowledge to the situation said that there are “lots of issues there” with Lars Sullivan. Specifically, “his emotional state is always going to be a concern.”

My Take:

  • Personally, I don’t miss Lars. Still though, I wouldn’t mind seeing him get one more chance before WWE potentially gives up on him.

2) Backstage News On The Current Creative Situation In WWE

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer provided some details on Bruce Prichard’s role in WWE. This included some interesting details about the current creative situation in the company.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Regarding the current creative situation, Bruce Prichard’s role isn’t really driving creative. Ed Koskey drives creative. Prichard oversees the team, implements and executes Vince McMahon’s orders and makes sure other departments are notified about plans so merchandising and network partners and promotional people are in the loop. Such as ideas like this is the date a guy is returning and we need new merchandise for him ready. He also deals with USA and FOX, although Kevin Dunn has stepped in a lot on that and Nick Khan may end up doing that as well

My Take:

  • RAW and Smackdown have been solid as of late, so I think WWE is doing something right with their creative process.
