3) Who Produced The Men’s Royal Rumble Match
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the men’s Royal Rumble match was put together by several people, including Shane McMahon.
Here is what Meltzer wrote about how the match was produced:
The men’s Rumble was put together by Shane McMahon, James Gibson (Noble) , Chris Park (Abyss) and Lance Evers (Storm) with input by Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar regarding the early part of the match.
Vince McMahon was heavily involved in the finishing sequence and not only made the final call on McIntyre winning, but also the sequence and his eliminating Reigns last.
My Take:
- Interesting to see Shane working as a producer now. WWE had previously said that he was strictly being used as an on-screen talent but that looks to have changed. Props to everyone involved as the men’s Royal Rumble was really good.
2) Who Produced The Women’s Royal Rumble Match
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the women’s Royal Rumble match was produced by several people, including Mickie James.
Here is what Meltzer wrote about the booking of the match.
The women’s Rumble was put together by Michael Seitz (Hayes), T.J. Wilson (Tyson Kidd), Adam Pearce, Mickie James and Paul Levesque had input the day of the show to help out and made it flow better.
My Take:
- The Women’s Royal Rumble match was also really solid, so I think that they did a great job. It is cool to see Mickie James involved and I am sure that she will work as a full-time producer for WWE when she officially retires.
