Rumor Roundup: Roman Reigns’ Future After Wrestlemania, How Superstars Will Be Paid, More

1) Roman Reigns’ Future After Wrestlemania 36

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer brought up an interesting topic about Roman Reigns. This comes after the report that Roman has been pulled from Wrestlemania 36.

Meltzer brought up the fact that if Roman isn’t going to be competing at Wrestlemania 36, it could also mean that he will be off WWE television until the coronavirus pandemic has subsided, which could be months. Here is what Meltzer said:

The other thing that was brought up to me actually yesterday by someone was that you realize for both of those guys (Roman Reigns and Daniel Bryan), certainly for Roman Reigns, that he probably, and I’m sure this isn’t going to happen, but realistically, he probably shouldn’t be doing this for a long time. This is not about WrestleMania, this is about long after WrestleMania. We have until this thing is way under control, and I’m not talking about where we’re going to restaurants again, but way under control or there is a vaccine, hopefully, that soon.

The reference to Daniel Bryan comes from the recent comments of Brie Bella, who said that Daniel will be self-isolating for two weeks after Wrestlemania 36. This is because he is fearful of bringing something back to Brie and their daughter, Birdie. This could also be a hint that Bryan will be off WWE television for a while after Wrestlemania. Reigns and Bryan would be two big losses for the blue brand.

My Take:

  • If it was up to me, I would keep Reigns off television until things subside. His health and safety is the most important thing here. Since he has pre-existing medical conditions, it is not worth bringing him back for a few weeks of Smackdown. Keep him off TV until you know that it is safe. I am sure that most people will agree with me on that. Smackdown will suffer but it is the right thing to do.
