Rumor Roundup: Roman Reigns’ Booking, Main Roster Star To Be In RETRIBUTION? More

3) Rey Mysterio Rejected A Big Contract Offer From AEW

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Rey Mysterio turned down a big contract offer from AEW. Mysterio turned the offer down to stay with WWE.

Here is what Meltzer said:

“They did sign Rey and Rey could have gone to AEW and they know that know Rey got a huge offer to go to AEW [and he] stayed,”

My Take:

  • It sounds like Rey made the right call as Dominik has been getting a ton of television time as of right. The same goes for the entire Mysterio family. I wonder if that was a part of the deal?

2) How Long Rey Mysterio Will Be Out Of Action For

Dave Meltzer also provided an injury update on Rey Mysterio. According to Meltzer, Rey could be back in action quicker than many people expected.

Rey is only expected to miss 4 to 6 weeks with his current triceps injury:

“It’s supposed to be..the last that I heard which would be last Wednesday or Thursday,  they’re looking 4-6 weeks for Rey, it’s a partial tear, yeah.”

My Take:

  • That is definitely good news as a triceps tear is what is keeping Edge off the shelf for several months. Rey only has a partial tear, which is good news and means that we should see him back in the ring fairly soon.
