Rumor Roundup: Rejected RETRIBUTION Name, Female Star Has Impressed People Backstage, More

3) NXT UK Gets A New Head Writer

According to Inside The Ropes, NXT UK has a new head writer. The report says that Jim Smallman has recently been promoted as the head writer of the brand.

It was also noted that Glen Joseph is no longer a producer of the show:

The brand’s talent were told in a Zoom meeting earlier today that Glen Joseph (the former co-owner of PROGRESS) had left his role as one of the show’s producers due to “personal reasons” and that Jim Smallman (another PROGRESS founder) had been promoted to the brand’s head writer.

My Take:

  • I really hope that NXT UK finds some momentum. They have a lot of talented people and I want to see the show do well.

2) Update On WWE’s Plans After The ThunderDome

WWE’s contract with the Amway Center in Orlando is set to expire on October 31st. According to a report from Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes, WWE is making plans to leave the ThunderDome.

Here is what Cassidy wrote:

With their contract with the venue set to expire next month, WWE talents have been told tentative plans are in place to start travelling again.

A source close to one talent told ITR that WWE are going to start travelling soon. Talents have also been told they should not plan any immediate travel of their own accord.
Superstars have also been told, if they want time off from WWE, they should ask three weeks ahead of time.

My Take:

  • I am definitely interested to see what they do. Traveling to different locations still seems risky. I think that they will find an outdoor venue like AEW is currently doing with Daily’s Place. That way, they can have some fans in attendance of their shows.
