1) Possible NXT Call-Up
Keeping in mind the above news about Kairi Sane and Io Shirai, this could lead to a potential NXT call-up to the WWE main roster.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is considering calling up Shirai so that she will make more money. Here is what he said:
“Io may be moved to the main roster real quick to keep that from happening because then her pay goes way up because her pay in NXT is nothing special. I heard she was making more money [with STARDOM].”
It was also noted by Meltzer that Shirai is unhappy being away from her fiance. She is dating EVIL, who works for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
My Take:
- I definitely had no idea that she was dating EVIL. I selfishly hope that she stays in WWE as there are so many dream matches waiting for her. Io Shirai vs Becky Lynch, Io Shirai vs Sasha Banks, and Io Shirai vs Charlotte Flair all come to mind.
