Rumor Roundup: Plans For The Released WWE Superstars, Wrestlemania 37 In Jeopardy? More

1) Details On The Plans For The Released WWE Superstars

We have an update to pass your way on the futures of the Superstars who were released by WWE this week.

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), the word going around is that NXT superstars (who were released) will have 30-day, non-compete clauses.

Sapp also says that main roster Superstars (who were released) will have 90-day, non-compete clauses:

Based on what we’ve heard, the WWE main roster got 90-day non-compete clauses, NXT got 30-day non competes

That means the released stars from RAW and Smackdown will be able to sign elsewhere on July 15th. The NXT Superstars will also be free to sign elsewhere on May 15th.

My Take:

  • The good news is that this likely means the main roster Superstars will still be getting paid by WWE until July 15th. The bad news is that we don’t know if other promotions will be able to sign any of them due to the coronavirus pandemic.
