Rumor Roundup: Plans For The MITB Briefcase, Big Name Returning To WWE? More

3) Wade Barrett’s Future In WWE

Wade Barrett recently signed with WWE but only as a full-time commentator. He teased during a recent interview that a match against Drew McIntyre could be something that tempts him to come out out of retirement.

Here is what Barrett said:

“In truth if I was to come back as a full-time in-ring guy, I really would be chasing the sunset of my career. I don’t think there’s that many more years left in me. So the question is, what would I want to achieve? The only thing I didn’t achieve in WWE that I always wanted to achieve was to become the WWE Champion, and that title is now held by an old friend of mine, Drew McIntyre. So taking him on for that title is something that certainly might tempt me back for a match or two.”

My Take:

  • I am a big Barrett fan and would love to see him come back for one more run. I also wouldn’t mind seeing him work in NXT with some of the top guys. My fingers are crossed.

2) Both Members Of The Viking Raiders Will Be Out Long-Term

Ivar of The Viking Raiders recently suffered a neck injury, which forced him to get surgery. During Ivar’s absence, Erik still made a few appearances on Monday Night RAW. We have an update for you.

Erik announced on social media that he has now also underwent surgery. This means that he will also be out for the long-term:

“Today I had hardware removed from my cyborg arm. I’ve been putting off this surgery for a long time and just worked thru the pain and limitations caused by a surgical screw protruding into my triceps. Thanks to the wonderful Dr Dugas, I’m excited to come back at full strength,”

My Take:

  • This is definitely a blow to the tag team division in WWE. I wish them both a speedy recovery.
