3) Unscripted Moment On RAW
According to Randy Orton on the conference call prior to Summerslam, Ric Flair was never supposed to speak during their segment on RAW a few weeks ago. Ric grabbed the mic from Orton and ended up cutting an unscripted promo.
Here is what Orton said about the segment:
“I’ll tell you what he was never supposed to grab the microphone from me that night. He was just supposed to say a few things under his breath that the hand held camera in the ring may or may not pick up. You were supposed to see our facial expressions and get an idea that he was bringing me back in & eventually we had the hug and I turned on him but when he grabbed the mic I was thinking, ‘Ah, come on Ric you’re not supposed to grab the mic’, but then he went on to cut that promo and it was very touching.
My Take:
- I think this just shows that Flair still has it. That was a solid promo and I think it really helped the segment.
2) Is A Top WWE Star The Leader Of Retribution?
There is starting to be some fan speculation that The Miz could be revealed as the leader of the new Retribution faction. This comes after some small moments involving The Miz on the past few episodes of Smackdown.
Here is what WrestlingNews.co wrote about the situation:
This week, several members of the WWE locker room ran into the ring to fight off Retribution. After Retribution was cleared to the ring, the camera picked up on The Miz running in but that only happened after Retribution was cleared.
This is the second week that WWE has planted a seed to tease The Miz as either the leader of Retribution or one of the top members of the group. Last week, The Miz alerted the WWE roster to get to the back where Retribution was but he never joined in on the fight.
My Take:
- This would actually be a pretty wild twist. The Miz hasn’t done much over the past several months, so this could be a nice storyline for him.
