3) A Reason Why WWE Is Granting Releases
WWE released 4 Superstars on Sunday. That included Luke Harper, Sin Cara, and both members of The Ascension. So why is WWE finally granting releases?
Here is what WrestlingNews.co had to say about the recent releases:
A WWE source told me that another reason why the company is more open to releasing some wrestlers is that it helps them cut down on salaries while freeing up more money to offer deals to mid and upper card wrestlers who they don’t want to leave the company.
My Take:
- The only guy who I think WWE should be concerned about losing is Luke Harper. I am a big fan of his and think that he still has some major potential. While saying that, Harper was likely going to leave WWE after his contract expires anyways.
2) Braun Strowman’s Status For TLC
Braun Strowman missed the WWE live event in Jacksonville over the weekend. He was supposed to challenge Bray Wyatt for the WWE Universal Championship at the event.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Braun is currently dealing with a back injury. It looks like he will be kept off the TLC card as a result:
Braun Strowman missed the weekend with a back issue. It is not believed to be serious, but we are told he was given time off as a preemptive measure so he could rest it.
My Take:
- The rumor going around was Braun vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the Intercontinental Championship. I feel like that would have been too rushed though since there was no storyline build on Smacdown.
