Rumor Roundup: More On The Revival’s Future, Plans For The Fiend, More

1) More On The Revival’s Future

WWE announced a tag team Elimination Chamber match for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles. It will be John Morrison and The Miz vs The New Day vs The Usos vs Lucha House Party vs Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode vs Heavy Machinery. After the announcement was made, some fans wondered why The Revival wasn’t included in this match.

According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, The Revival was not included in the match because they have yet to sign a new contract with WWE. As a result, WWE wasn’t going to reward them by putting them in the Chamber match.

It was also noted by Meltzer that The Revival has rejected all of WWE’s recent contract offers.

WWE also recently filed for the trademarks: “The Mechanics” and “No Flips Just Fists.” This looks like it was to prevent The Revival from using those names if they leave WWE.

My Take:

  • It definitely looks like The Revival will be leaving WWE before the end of the year. AEW seems like a smart landing spot for them as a feud between them and The Young Bucks has been asked for by fans for years now.
