Rumor Roundup: Matt Riddle’s WWE Future, USA Network “Furious” With WWE, More

3) Vince McMahon Wants More Monsters In WWE

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon is looking to build more monsters.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Part of it is Vince wants more monsters in the ring, as historically whenever WWE business is bad, Vince blames smaller guys on top, but right now, his thought process is he doesn’t have big guys who can work at that level.

My Take:

  • I am not sure if not having enough monsters is WWE’s main issue right now. They need more compelling storylines for the incredible talent that they have.

2) More On Triple H’s New NXT Show

As noted prior, Triple H is building a new show for NXT. This is said to be some sort of minor league system for the NXT brand. This is because there are not any live events at the moment, where the developmental talent can get in-ring experience.

According to Wrestling INC, the original goal was to launch this show in early 2021:

The biggest challenge has been to format the concept for TV. The original idea was for this to be akin to another promotion running in some of the smaller tier markets that NXT serviced. However, with house shows likely to not return, they are making it just a TV series.

The goal was for the show to launch in early 2021, but it has been delayed before and probably will again.

My Take:

  • This sounds like a great idea to me. I am not sure how viewership will be but these developmental talents need reps in the ring.
