Rumor Roundup: Match & Segment Scrapped From Smackdown, Backstage Morale, More

3) Injured WWE Superstar Returning Soon?

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Riddick Moss was backstage at the latest episode of Smackdown. Moss has been out of action with a torn ACL since last year.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

WWE star Riddick Moss, who has been out of action since the fall of 2020 with an ACL tear, is backstage at tonight’s Smackdown taping at Madison Square Garden, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

Moss last performed for WWE on an episode of WWE Main Event in September 2020, defeating Erik of the Viking Raiders.

My Take:

  • If I am being completely honest, I thought Moss was released by WWE. Since there have been so many releases, it has been hard to keep track.

2) Backstage Morale In WWE Is High After Smackdown

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), backstage morale is high after this week’s episode of Smackdown at Madison Square Garden.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

One WWE source near creative said that they fully believe the company is capable of putting on these kinds of shows regularly, it’s just a matter of getting through to those of influence that this is the type of event that the audience wants to see regularly.

My Take:

  • I thought it was a really good episode. They can put on some good shows when they want to. This doesn’t happen each week though, which is the issue.
