Rumor Roundup: Major Plans For The Future Of WWE, Mark Carrano’s Firing, More

3) Note On The Rumors About Mojo Rawley’s Release

There was a rumor going around that Mojo Rawley was actually released a few months ago but WWE only made it public on April 15th. It turns out that this rumor is NOT true.

On Fightful Select (subscribe here), Sean Ross Sapp spoke to Mojo, who said he was under contract with WWE until an hour before the news broke on April 15th.

My Take:

  • This was such a random rumor. I think it came from Mojo Tweeting that he is on to new things after May 31st. I think people assumed that his 90-day non-compete clause was started early or something.

2) Daniel Bryan’s Future

Daniel Bryan was recently interviewed by BT Sport. During this, he spoke about his current WWE contract coming to an end soon.

Bryan also said that he is trying to pitch to WWE to allow him to work for them and for other companies:

“It’d be interesting if I could wrestle in different companies and WWE. That’s something I’m trying to weasel my way into right now. (laughs)”

My Take:

  • I don’t think WWE will let him work for any company like Ring of Honor, All Elite Wrestling, or New Japan Pro Wrestling. While saying that, I could see them maybe allowing him to work a few matches for some smaller promotions. I am sure WWE would rather compromise with Bryan than have him go elsewhere.
