3) A Change Of Philosophy Backstage In WWE
According to a report from Ringside News, there has been a change of philosophy backstage with the news of Bruce Prichard taking over for Paul Heyman as the guy in charge of RAW.
Heyman did his best to sell concepts to Vince McMahon and try to “inspire and motivate” him. With Heyman now gone, the new idea is to pitch Vince as quickly as possible:
A source in the company explained to us that Paul Heyman wanted to “sell the concepts to Vince.” He wanted to “inspire and motivate” McMahon during their pitch sessions. The new idea is to simply pitch something to McMahon as quickly as possible, and get out before he gets bored.
If Heyman’s first pitch didn’t work, he wanted to brainstorm and work out an idea. Paul Heyman was “never in a rush to get out of there.”
My Take:
- I was ready to be upset after Heyman left but I can’t lie, I have really enjoyed RAW over the past few weeks. Maybe this change of philosophy has helped? We will have to give it a few more weeks to make that final decision.
2) WWE Asks Two People To Sit Out Of The Recent Television Tapings
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Tyson Kidd (who works as a producer) showed up to testing with a fever. Both him and Natalya tested negative for COVID-19 but WWE asked them to sit out of this weekend’s television tapings as a precaution.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
Producer T.J. Wilson (who wrestled as Tyson Kidd), came to testing on 6/25 with a fever. Both he and wife Nattie Neidhart tested negative for COVID in I believe two different tests, but as a precautionary measure, the company asked both to sit out this weekend even though she was fine.
My Take:
- The good news is that they didn’t test positive. We will check back and see if that changes over the next week.
