Rumor Roundup: Interesting New Plans For Drew McIntyre, GRONK Plans For Wrestlemania 36, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Gimmick Match Not Happening At Wrestlemania 36

On RAW this week, AJ Styles spoke about putting the nail in the coffin of The Undertaker’s career. This led to speculation that their match could be turning into a casket match at Wrestlemania 36.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, a casket match is NOT happening at Wrestlemania 36:

Another update from yesterday. The AJ Styles, he promised to cause Undertaker to die in the ring, he also said that he would literally put the nail in his coffin, which of course, led me to ask, ‘well, is it going to be a casket match.’ How do you literally put a nail in a coffin if it’s not a casket match. The answer is, as of this moment, no, it is not a casket match.

My Take:

  • I am fine with AJ Styles vs The Undertaker remaining as a singles match. I don’t think that they need any gimmick to help it out.

4) The Plans For Gronk At Wrestlemania 36

News broke on Tuesday night that WWE is close to finalizing a deal with Ron Gronkowski (aka Gronk). A new report from The Wrap has provided some details about Gronk’s status for Wrestlemania 36.

The report says that Gronk will be appearing at the event but won’t actually be wrestling:

Gronk is also due to appear at April 5’s WrestleMania 36 in Tampa, Fla., the insider told TheWrap. Current plans call for that appearance to be part of a build-up to a future match. In other words, the three-time Super Bowl champion will not have a match at the Super Bowl of professional wrestling — this year, at least.

My Take:

  • I could see WWE planting some seeds for Gronk against a big name at Wrestlemania 37. That way, it gives Gronk a full year to train for the match.
