3) WWE Looking To Improve Production
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is looking to improve their production now that they are moving to the Amway Center.
Meltzer says WWE wants more “bells and whistles” to try and improve ratings:
They are looking at doing virtual fans in attendance like baseball and basketball has been doing. There has been talk that the darkness and size of the current building they believe is one of the things that has hurt the ratings. The plan is for a bigger production crew, and more bells and whistles as far as that goes than they can do at the Performance Center.
My Take:
- I am interested to see what they come up with. I am always down for improved production, so no complaints from me.
2) The Most Searched WWE Stars Of 2020
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer listed the most-searched Superstars of 2020 (from Google).
John Cena was number one, followed by The Undertaker, Roman Reigns, and Brock Lesnar:
An interesting note from Brandon Thurston regarding the ten most searched WWE stars of 2020 on Google. This tells you all you need to know about Raw & Smackdown creating stars when the top ten, in order, are Cena, Undertaker, Reigns (off TV since March), Lesnar (off TV since WrestleMania), Big Show (likely more due to Netflix than WWE), Becky Lynch (off TV since April), Goldberg (off TV since April), Orton, Mysterio and Bliss
My Take:
- This is definitely concerning in terms of WWE not being able to create new stars. WWE needs to do a better job of building up the talent they have right now and utilizing them to their full potential.
