Rumor Roundup: How Vince McMahon Views Bray Wyatt, Interesting WWE Video Game Update, More

3) Big Match No Longer Happening At Money In The Bank?

There were some rumors floating around that Charlotte Flair vs Io Shirai could happen at the Money in the Bank PPV. Many fans thought that this was going to be the case as the poster for the PPV includes Charlotte Flair front-and-center.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Charlotte vs Io is not currently scheduled for the PPV. It is unclear when the match will happen but it looks like we can cross off Money in the Bank from the list.

My Take:

  • This isn’t surprising as WWE hasn’t brought Shirai to RAW over the past few weeks. I feel like if WWE was doing this match at Money in the Bank, Shirai would have attacked Charlotte on RAW by now.

2) Update On The Next WWE Show In Saudi Arabia

During Vince McMahon’s earnings call with investors, he was asked how the coronavirus pandemic will affect WWE holding shows in Saudi Arabia. The company usually holds two events in the country per year, but that is now a question mark due to what is going on in the world.

Vince says that WWE doing a second Saudi event this year is now in doubt. While saying that, if a show doesn’t happen in 2020, he says they will just add another to the end of their 10-year contract with the country. Here is what Vince said:

“They would love to have another huge event, WrestleMania type event. We normally have two per year in Saudi. They of course are under the same constraints as we are here in the United States and everyone else is in this pandemic. So they are not too sure they’re gonna be able to give us the ok to perform in November or December. They really want us to because it represents a huge turn in what’s allowed, what’s not allowed, as far as live events [are] concerned. But the good part about that is, if in fact we don’t perform, we’ll just tack on that event on the backside of our contract. So we’re not gonna lose the money…we’re fortunate that we would just move another event on the other side of our 10 year agreement.”

My Take:

  • For those who want the Saudi Arabia shows to stop, this is proof that we still have many years of them to come.
