Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) WWE Tag Team Removed From Television
According to a report from Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, The Forgotten Sons have been removed from WWE television. This comes after Jaxon Ryker’s pro-Donald Trump Tweet that led to several fiery responses from the WWE locker room:
The team of Jaxson Ryker, Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake were primed for a push within the WWE Tag Team division, before a pro-Donald Trump tweet landed him in hot water with the locker room. Most of the WWE wrestlers that we’ve spoken to say that he was well liked ahead of that and very respectful. They also note that Blake and Cutler distanced their stances from his following the tweet, and even came in for a meeting with Mark Carrano, as well as other wrestlers.
It was noted by Sapp that the original plans were for The Forgotten Sons to feud with The New Day but those plans have likely been scrapped. He also added the following about the other two members of the group:
Based on what we’ve heard, there’s no heat on Wesley Blake or Steve Cutler, but they are catching the backlash from Ryker’s tweet. It’s worth noting that Ryker hasn’t wrestled since the call-up.
My Take:
- The guy I really feel bad for is Wesley Blake. The guy has been in WWE developmental for so long but hasn’t caught a break until now. When he finally did, all of this happens.
4) WWE’s Plan For Running Live Events Again
According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE has discussed potentially bringing back live events.
Johnson says that WWE is hoping to run live events again by the end of the Summer. Here is what he wrote:
While nothing official has been set into motion, PWInsider.com can confirm World Wrestling Entertainment has begun working to strategize potential courses of action towards getting WWE live events up and running again. We are told that the company is hoping, if all works out, to be prepared to hold live events by the end of the summer.
PWInsider.com has also been told some in the company are even hoping to running events outside of TV tapings at the Performance Center or Full Sail Live by August, but others we have spoken with (who confirmed the August talk) believe that timeframe is premature. The entire process has been described as being very “day to day” with plans and strategies quickly changing as the company works to establish different contingency plans.
My Take:
- I am sure the recent COVID-19 test in WWE will likely delay these plans. Still, this shows us that WWE is ready to get back to normal as quickly as possible.
