Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.
5) Chelsea Green Update
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Chelsea Green was cleared a month ago to return to the ring. Sapp also noted that some creative pitches were being made for her but none of these have come to fruition.
Here is what Sapp wrote about Green:
We reported recently that Chelsea Green has signed a new three-year contract with WWE, locking her down through 2023. However, we’ve also learned that Green has been cleared to return to the ring. We’d noted she started the process before the Royal Rumble, but Smackdown sources confirmed that she was cleared to make an in-ring return by mid-February. Creative pitches were being made for her, but we’re unsure if any plans are in order, or if she’ll use the “Victorious” name that was originally planned for her back in November.
My Take:
- My guess is that she will show up after Wrestlemania. She isn’t involved in a big match at the event, so it makes sense that she hasn’t been featured much on Smackdown as of late. I am a big fan of hers though and hope that WWE pushes her after things calm down post-‘Mania.
4) Why Scenes Are Missing After WWE’s Move To Peacock
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Peacock is removing any racist moments from the WWE content coming to their streaming service. This comes after fans have noticed missing content from WWE shows on the new platform.
Here is what the site wrote:
“According to sources familiar with the situation, the NBCUniversal-owned streaming service is reviewing all 17,000 hours of WWE content to ensure it aligns with Peacock’s standards and practices. WWE is also being made aware of any changes made.”
My Take:
- This makes sense. A lot of interns are likely spending their days watching old WWE footage and writing notes on what can and can’t be used.
