Rumor Roundup: Changes Coming To The WWE Draft, Plans For Sonya Deville, More

3) Plans For Sonya Deville

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE sources are hopeful that Sonya Deville’s in-ring return will be imminent.

At one point, Sonya was even penciled in for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Here is what Sapp wrote:

There has been a significant push to have Deville involved in the Women’s Money in the Bank match, and we’re told as of one point, she was penciled in for the match.

My Take:

  • Sonya appointing herself as the final participant in the Money in the Bank ladder match would make sense from a storyline standpoint. I could definitely see that happening.

2) WWE Superstar Name Changes

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE is changing the names of Reckoning (Mia Yim) and Slapjack (Shane Thorne). They will now be going by their old names again.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

PWInsider.com can also confirm that WWE has dropped the Retribution-era names for Mia Yim (formerly Reckoning) and Shane Thorne (Slapjack) and as now, they will be utilizing their previous ring names.  Obviously, that could change if there’s a creative idea or direction for them.

My Take:

  • That is great news. Hopefully Mace and T-Bar get the same treatment and we can all forget that Retribution ever happened.
