Rumor Roundup: Changed Plans For The Fiend’s Matches, WWE Bringing Back Former Superstars, More

3) Why Tito Ortiz Was At The WWE Performance Center

It was reported a few days ago that former UFC star, Tito Ortiz, was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has provided some more details on why Ortiz was there:

UFC Hall of Famer Tito Ortiz was at the WWE Performance Center last week in Orlando, Florida.  PWInsider.com is told Ortiz’s visit was something of an introductory meeting spread out over several days so Ortiz, a lifelong pro wrestling fan, and WWE could feel each other out and see if the two sides might be able to work together down the line.  Ortiz did some pro wrestling training and familiarized himself with the WWE system while there.  We are told it was very much a “let’s feel each other out” sort of situation.

My Take:

  • Ortiz has always been an entertaining guy so I would be interested to see how he does as a wrestler. He is 45 years old though and has been fighting for many years so I doubt that he is going to be a full-time guy.

2) Vic Joseph’s Current Status With WWE

Vic Joseph was taken off the RAW announce team recently. Over the weekend, Joseph revealed on Instagram that he will be part of the Cleveland Cavaliers coverage for the 2nd half of their season on the NBA Network.

After this news broke, some fans wondered if this meant that Joseph is now finished with WWE. Wrestling INC says that he is still working for the company:

As of now, Wrestling Inc. can confirm that Joseph is still a WWE employee.

My Take:

  • Joseph is a talented guy but I guess they didn’t like him as the lead voice of RAW. It makes sense to give him something to do for the next few months while they find a new role for him in WWE.
