3) Peyton Royce’s Future
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Peyton Royce is expected to receive a strong singles push moving forward.
This comes after WWE split up The IIconics on RAW. Here is what Johnson had to say:
“I was told by several people that Peyton Royce is earmarked for a singles push, they’ve decided that they wanted to push her, and this is not a case of Billie Kay leaving the company or anything like that. I was told that it’s just they want to push Peyton Royce and try and go in a different direction with her.
My Take:
- I am conflicted about this as I love Peyton and think that she could thrive as a singles star. While saying that, I also really liked The IIconics and loved their chemistry. I feel like WWE could have pushed Peyton as a singles star, without breaking her away from Billie Kay. That might just be me though.
2) WWE’s New Strategy For Signing Developmental Talent
A few days ago, it was announced that WWE had signed several Superstars from EVOLVE. That included names like Josh Briggs, Anthony Greene, and more.
According to reports from PWInsider and Fightful, WWE is signing new developmental talents to short-term contracts. These contracts are for around 6 months (and sometimes even shorter). These contracts serve as a trial period for WWE to test the new talent out before signing them to longer deals:
My Take:
- This definitely seems smart by WWE as it lets them see how someone fits in. If it is going poorly, they can always cut bait. This definitely sucks for the new talent though as the pressure is on from day one to perform.
