Rumor Roundup: Backstage Reaction To Vince Carrying On With Wrestlemania, Update On The Revival, More

3) WWE Star Has Surgery & Will Be Out For Several Months

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rezar of The AOP recently had surgery after tearing his bicep.

Rezar is expected to be out for several months. Here is what Meltzer wrote:

Geza Selmani, aka Rezar of AOP has had surgery to repair his torn right biceps. That usually means seven or eight months out.

Right now the decision is not to use Akam without him so as of right now there are no plans for either of them for appearing on television

My Take:

  • This sucks for both Rezar and Akam. They had a good thing going with Seth Rollins. If it was up to me, I would keep Akam on TV as Seth’s bodyguard. Might as well still use him if they can.

2) When The WWE Crew Found Out That Roman Reigns Is Off Wrestlemania 36

The major news broke on Thursday night that Roman Reigns had pulled out of Wrestlemania 36. He won’t be facing Goldberg at the event due to concerns about wrestling during the coronavirus pandemic.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscribe here), most of the WWE crew found out about this news on Wednesday:

We’ve been told that much of the crew involved found out that Roman Reigns wouldn’t be participating on Wednesday.

My Take:

  • I am not going to blame Roman for making his health the top priority. Especially since he is someone who has battled cancer within the past few years. I am sure that his fellow WWE employees understand his decision.
