3) Update On Sami Zayn’s Status
Some fans were wondering about Sami Zayn’s status after he missed last week’s episode of Smackdown. We have an update for you.
Sami Zayn noted on Twitter that he recently had his wisdom teeth pulled, which is the likely reason why he missed the episode last week:
My Take:
- Based on this, Sami will likely be back for this week’s episode of Smackdown.
2) The Current Status Of NXT Japan
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s plan to start ‘NXT Japan’ has been delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic.
Here is what he said:
NXT Japan looks to be dead in the water, yes. All kinds of expansion like that are going to be dead for a while. All the new NXT offshoots, I don’t know what’s going to happen with UK but I expect major cuts in the UK as well. Yeah, but, NXT Japan ain’t going to happen now. I mean, there is even an article on Tokyo Sports today that actually said that they talked to some people that were going to be working there and it’s like, yeah, it’s not happening.
My Take:
- This makes sense. With so much uncertainty right now, it doesn’t make sense for WWE to start something new like this. While saying that, I could see WWE swooping in and signing a lot of Japanese talent in several months.
