Rumor Roundup: Backstage Reaction To NXT Winning Survivor Series, Brock Lesnar’s Status, More

3) Why Corey Graves Chirped Mauro Ranallo On Twitter

You have likely heard by now about the situation involving Corey Graves and Mauro Ranallo. Corey sent out some Tweets that criticized Mauro’s commentary. This ultimately led to Mauro missing both Survivor Series and NXT.

According to a report from Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, Graves was trying to play into the brand warfare between RAW, Smackdown, and NXT with his Tweets:

According to sources, Corey wrote those tweets to play into the brand warfare element of Survivor Series and the SmackDown announcer planned to bring them up on commentary in a joking manner when he was joined by Mauro at the desk the following day.

My Take: I am not sure if I am buying that. If so, Graves would have apologized right away if he knew it upset Mauro.

2) Vince McMahon Done With Humberto Carrillo?

According to a rumor via Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio, Vince McMahon is finished with Humberto Carrillo after his recent push on RAW.

Here is what he said:

“Vince is done with Humberto Carrillo for the time being. He’s giving him the ‘Cedric Alexander.’ Like you’re still gonna see him on TV. I’m sure he’s gonna win here and there, but like it’s exactly like Cedric Alexander. He got a few weeks, Vince thought he wasn’t getting over, so he’s just — he’s done.”

My Take: I like Humberto but he wasn’t doing much for me over the past few weeks. There is so much talent on RAW that someone else talented will get a chance.
