Rumor Roundup: Backstage Notes On Possible Changes At Crown Jewel, NXT’s New Direction, More

3) New WWE Coach

According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, Kenny Dykstra is now working for WWE as a coach at the Performance Center. He is best known for being a member of the Spirit Squad.

Here is what Johnson wrote:

Former Spirit Squad member Ken “Kenny Dykstra” Doane has been hired by WWE as a WWE Performance Center Coach.  He’s been working in Orlando for at least the last several weeks, PWInsider.com can confirm.

My Take:

  • Good for him. The Spirit Squad definitely brings back some memories.

2) Scrapped WWE Faction Plans

Mojo Rawley was recently interviewed by Chris Hero for Shoot Conversations. During this, he revealed that WWE scrapped some plans for a new version of the League of Nations with him, Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Here is what Mojo said (h/to Fightful):

“My most recent Mania, I’m doing the heel thing and I tagged with Cesaro and [Shinsuke Nakamura]. They liked that. They were talking about that being a new League of Nations and I was going to be the mouthpiece of it. Who knows how much that was going to be a thing. I’m doing my heel work, then the 24/7 stuff was around there, then I moved SmackDown and I was immediately hyped up babyface to bring in Rob and we had big plans that didn’t materialize because of the pandemic he went back to football. They put me right back to being a heel immediately and I was flip-flopping every week,”

My Take:

  • That could have been decent. I am not sure how it would go though based on how WWE has booked factions over the past year. Probably for the best.
