Rumor Roundup: Backstage Notes On Omos’ Future, Roman Reigns’ Merch Sales, More

3) Backstage Note On The Queen’s Crown Tournament

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Liv Morgan was orginally going to beat Carmella in the Queen’s Crown Tournament. WWE changed their minds and went with Carmella instead.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

Carmella ended up winning the match, but we’re told that at one point ahead of the match, Liv Morgan was actually penciled in to win the match.

My Take:

  • I think Liv should have won. She needed the moment more than Carmella did, in my opinion at least.

2) Big Hopes For New Smackdown Star

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has high hopes for Ridge Holland, who is heading to Smackdown. Some people in the company have called him a future WWE Champion.

Here is what Meltzer wrote:

“The company does have high hopes for Holland, who some in the company have tabbed as a future WWE champion, as well as Theory, who is young and has a good look. I don’t see it in Holland at this point, as he came across as a generic looking guy with generic moves who has a powerful looking body and is a legit athlete,”

My Take:

  • I am interested to see if he lives up to expectations. Should be fun to watch.
