3) MJF Open To Listening To Offers After His AEW Contract Expires
MJF was recently interviewed by Steel Chair Magazine. During this, MJF noted that he would be open to listening to offers from other companies when his AEW contract expires.
Here is what he said:
“Don’t get me wrong, AEW runs deep in me, I don’t want to leave, but I am a businessman at the end of the day, and I can’t help myself if somebody’s got an offer for me, I’m going to listen to it.”
My Take:
- I could see WWE throwing a decent amount of money at him. I don’t see him leaving AEW though but you never know.
2) Daniel Bryan’s Future (Part 1)
According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE legitimately expired after his loss on Smackdown. This technically means that Bryan is currently a free agent and is free to sign elsewhere.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
Fightful has spoken with sources both inside and outside of WWE that have indicated that Daniel Bryan’s WWE contract either expired or was set to expire last week, after his Smackdown match. Bryan was on the losing end of a WWE Universal Title match to Roman Reigns in which stipulated he leave Smackdown if he lost, and was quickly moved to the alumni section of WWE.com.
High level sources both outside and inside have noted that they’d heard of the expiration of the deal, but that Bryan had not spoken openly about his contract status that they’re aware of. We also hadn’t heard of any particular farewells backstage as if he wasn’t going to be around, although that doesn’t mean they didn’t happen privately.
My Take:
- This makes things very interesting. Daniel Bryan holds a lot of power right now and would be a massive get for any promotion.
