3) WWE’s Relationship With 2K Is Strained
According to Sports Gamers Online, the relationship between WWE and 2K is said to be ‘seriously strained’. This comes after the news that the game will be delayed.
Here is what the site wrote:
“Most of those within WWE wanted the game to release in its normal Survivor Series window. Those from 2K Sports and Visual Concepts, on the other hand, pushed hard for a delay of the launch,”
My Take:
- This makes sense as WWE probably wants the sales for the game this year. 2K likely wants to wait until the product is ready first.
2) John Cena’s Future
According to Mike Johnson of PWinsider, John Cena is not expected for any upcoming WWE appearances, other than the September 10th episode of Smackdown. This comes after Cena lost to Roman Reigns at Summerslam.
Here is what Johnson wrote:
“We are told that Cena is done with future WWE appearances due to filming commitments. Currently, Cena is only scheduled for the 9/10 Friday Night Smackdown taping at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Beyond that, WWE is going forward with the understanding that he won’t be available for them for the foreseeable future due to filming commitments. There is no timetable for another potential return, WWE sources confirmed this evening.”
My Take:
- This makes sense. It is the 20th anniversary of 9/11 on the next day, so Cena being involved in that show makes sense.
