NXT is taping at least over the next month ahead of time with the time off to upgrade the Performance Center. The angle with Samoa Joe and Karrion Kross tearing up the place was the storyline reason for the refurbishing. The plexiglass may be gone as WWE sent a survey out to fans asking if they like it or don’t. The belief is that on television, the show looks too dark, so the idea is to make the studio brighter with more lights and more colorful looking. From a creative standpoint, the show is supposed to give the wrestling students and prospects more television time and less time to the experienced veterans and strong workers. That is the doctrine but how it plays out remains to be seen, but they do want the concept to be closer to the 2015 version of NXT.
My Take:
- Lots of great memories from Full Sail University. It is truly the end of an era.
2) Vince McMahon Reached Out Personally To Gable Steveson
Gable Steveson was recently interviewed by The Sun. During this, he revealed that Vince McMahon reached out to him personally to join WWE. For those who don’t know, Steveson just won the Olympic Gold medal in freestyle wrestling.
Here is what he said:
“I haven’t really thought about what’s next. I told everybody I was going to come home and sit down for a little bit and just relax myself and just pick what’s best for me and what’s next. I could go for double gold in 2024, I could see Vince McMahon – who has reached out to me personally to go out there to do WWE. Or I could go see Dana White. I mean, even the [Minnesota] Vikings gave me a message. The options are open, my doors are open. I’m gonna pick the best option. But as of right now, I’m not sure. I’m gonna keep searching. I have the world to explore and I’m just gonna step my foot in that door and open it all and explore myself.”
My Take:
- I could see Gable having a lot of success in WWE. Seems like Vince sees a lot of potential and it is hard to blame him.
