3) WWE Star Has Been Working Injured
According to Wrestling Inc, Mustafa Ali has been working injured over the past few months. It is believed that he has been working through a torn PCL, which he suffered back in December.
Here is what the site wrote about Ali’s injury:
Ali decided to work through the injury. During the Royal Rumble match this past January, his leg locked almost as soon as he hit the ring. Ali went on to work the match for nearly thirteen minutes and successfully eliminated Xavier Woods. The day after the Rumble, Ali underwent an MRI and was told that the injury would require surgery and rehab.
From what we are told, it was around this time that Ali began to regularly berate the other members of Retribution rather than undergoing surgery.
My Take:
- Props to Ali for toughing things out. He has had some solid showings over these past few months too, which is even more impressive.
2) The Original Plan For Retribution’s Break-Up
Wrestling INC says that it had been originally pitched that Retribution would disband during a big blow-off at Wrestlemania 37. Here is what the site wrote:
The idea that had been pitched to the group was that if Ali was willing to work through the injury and keep the group going for the time being, there would be some big blow-off with Retribution disbanding at WrestleMania 37.
It looks like this has been scrapped after they split up at Fastlane and did not appear on this week’s episode of RAW.
My Take:
- I am fine with WWE disbanding Retribution for good. The group has been a disaster and I think it is better to just move on.
