5) WWE Has Made A Big Effort To Keep Kairi Sane Away From Other Promotions
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE has made a big effort to keep Kairi Sane on their payroll. This is in order to keep her from jumping to any other promotions.
Here is what Sapp wrote:
WWE has made a big effort to retain Kairi, and pitched several ideas to keep her on the payroll, and more specifically, away from other companies. Many of these ideas included her returning to Japan to work in a variety of capacities from an ambassador to a trainer.
My Take:
- This is a smart move by WWE as she would be a major get for AEW’s women’s division. It will be interesting to see what happens with her.
4) Vince McMahon’s New Focus For WWE
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Vince McMahon has a new focus for WWE after Wrestlemania 36. Meltzer says that Vince is now focused on building new stars since they are losing a lot of people due to COVID-19 and other reasons.
Here is what Meltzer wrote:
What is notable is that Vince McMahon actually has said that since Mania is over and with a lot of guys missing due to COVID and other reasons, that this is the time where they have to make new stars, which seems to contradict most of what the actual creative is doing
My Take:
- I do hope that this COVID-19 situation is a wake-up call for Vince and he realizes that he needs to focus on building new stars. The company can’t rely on guys like Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, and John Cena forever.
