Rumor Roundup: Austin Theory’s RAW Push & WWE Future, Upcoming Feud For Brock Lesnar, More

Here are some of the latest WWE rumors that are floating around.

5) Upcoming Feud For Brock Lesnar

According to journalist Tom Colohue, Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley is still a match that WWE is planning.

Here is what Colohue said:

“The match with Lesnar is definitely still coming. Lashley has been very open, anytime he’s asked anything. He returned to the WWE because he wants to take on Brock Lesnar. And the fact is, that this was something that he took into contract negotiations with the WWE when he made his return. He wanted that to be respected. It’s definitely still coming.”

My Take:

  • This would make sense as Lashley is being built up really strong by WWE right now. I don’t see him taking the WWE Title off Drew McIntyre but I could definitely see his push leading to a PPV match against Brock down the road.

4) WWE Has Become More Relaxed With Their Social Media Policy

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, WWE has become more relaxed over the past few years with its social media policy.

Here is what Sapp wrote:

WWE has been much more relaxed in recent years as it pertains to social media. We’ve seen tons of wrestlers and producers start and continue their podcasts and shows, and even contracted wrestlers contacting us personally for interviews. WWE talent have also told us the company has a very relaxed policy for Cameo, CelebVM and the like, and they never seem to get any heat for doing those, interviews, or projects on their own. Bruce Prichard, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder, EC3, Braun Strowman, Drake Maverick, Shane Helms and tons of others had shows of their own while with WWE.

During our interview with Lio Rush, he said that WWE never contacted him about his music, promos or anything he put on Youtube — except for one skit. It featured he and Noam Dar at urinals and Lio leaning over and laughing at Dar. Outside of that, he mentioned that he had complete creative freedom over that.

My Take:

  • This is good to hear as I remember a time when WWE was very strict with their Superstars’ social media. Good to see them get a bit of freedom, which can lead to additional income for the wrestlers.
