Rumor Roundup: Another Finish Changed At Wrestlemania 37, Plans For Wrestlemania 38, More

1) Another Finish Changed At Wrestlemania 37

According to Sean Ross Sapp on Fightful Select (subscribe here), WWE originally planned for Matt Riddle to retain the United States Championship at Wrestlemania 37. WWE made a late change and gave the belt to Sheamus instead.

Here is what Sapp wrote.

“We mentioned the changes to the Fiend vs. Randy Orton match, but that wasn’t the only match that had the result changed this weekend.

Fightful was informed that originally Riddle was supposed to retain his WWE United States Championship at the show, but it was adjusted in favor of continuing the feud with Sheamus, tentatively.”

My Take:

  • I think that WWE made the right call. Sheamus has quietly had an incredible year and I was happy to see him rewarded.
