3) Byron Saxton’s Current Status
Byron Saxton was recently removed from the commentary team on Smackdown. While Tom Phillips has found a role as the lead commentator of NXT UK, Saxton does not have an on-air role with the company right now.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Byron has NOT been released and is still under contract with WWE.
Saxton is currently involved in a backstage capacity but it is unclear if he will be used (on-air) anytime soon. All we know is that he didn’t get fired.
2) New Potential WWE Show Name
On October 1st, WWE filed for the trademark of “WWE’s Triple Crown”.
Here is what the trademark filing is for:
“Production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; a show about professional wrestling- providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media- providing information in the fields of wrestling through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media- providing a website in the field of wrestling information”
This seems like it could be for a new show on the WWE Network. We will have to wait and see but that filing sounds like a new show.
