The Undertaker has been officially confirmed for Smackdown Live this week in Madison Square Garden. This happens to be the go-home show for the Clash of Champions PPV.
Since this is the go-home show for the PPV, some fans have been wondering if the Undertaker could be wrestling at Clash of Champions.
On Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer provided an update on the Deadman.
According to Meltzer, this Smackdown appearance is strictly to help with ticket sales and the Undertaker won’t be wrestling at Clash of Champions. Here is what he wrote (h/t to Ringside News for the quote below):
“I was told that’s not the case [that Taker will wrestle at Clash Of Champions]. I thought that myself and I was told, ‘No. He’s gonna be on this show.’ Basically, the gist was going to be on the SmackDown show because they hoped that he would help sell tickets because they thought the [RAW] show would be an easy sell-out and the second show [SmackDown] would need help.”
My Take: That probably means we will see something simple like the Deadman chokeslamming someone. Or, we might just get a short promo from him. I am not expecting much.
