NXT Takeover: Toronto II will be taking place on August 10th, which is one night before Summerslam. This will be taking place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
This will be the next Takeover special after ‘XXV’, which will be taking place on June 1st.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer provided an update on what will be the main event of Takeover: Toronto II.
According to him, the plan is for the winner of Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole at ‘XXV’ to face Matt Riddle in Toronto. This will be for the NXT Championship:
The plan right now is for the Cole vs. Gargano winner to defend against Riddle on the Takeover show in Toronto
My Take: Riddle vs Gargano and Riddle vs Cole both sound pretty good to me. I would be happy with either.
