WWE has confirmed that the theme of this year’s Survivor Series PPV event will be RAW vs Smackdown. WWE has already confirmed some big Champion vs Champion matches, including Ronda Rousey vs Becky Lynch and AJ Styles vs Brock Lesnar.
A rumor floating around suggests that this wasn’t the original plan.
According to @Wrestlevotes, WWE wasn’t originally going to go with a RAW vs Smackdown theme for the show. The rumor suggests that Vince McMahon did not want Roman Reigns vs AJ Styles on the show. As a result, the theme of RAW vs Smackdown was not going to happen. The news of Roman Reigns’ leukemia returning changed their plans up in a big way according to the account. With Roman out, WWE decided to go back to a RAW vs Smackdown theme at the last moment.
