The major news broke on Thursday night that Roman Reigns has been pulled from Wrestlemania 36. This is because he doesn’t feel comfortable working during the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, his match against Goldberg at Wrestlemania 36 has been scrapped.
We have a rumor to pass your way about the new plans for Goldberg. We have marked this as a minor spoiler in case this ends up as an open challenge at Wrestlemania 36.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that he has heard Braun Strowman is Goldberg’s new opponent at Wrestlemania 36.
Meltzer added the following about the situation:
“I’m under the impression that on tonight’s SmackDown show that they’ll acknowledge it and shoot an angle.”
UPDATE: Mike Johnson of PWInsider is also reporting that Braun will be Goldberg’s opponent:
WWE Universal Champion Bill Goldberg will face Braun Strowman at Wrestlemania 36.
Braun has been the name that has come up the most when fans have discussed a replacement for Reigns. Braun doesn’t currently have a match scheduled for Wrestlemania 36.
