Wrestlemania 36 is coming up soon. This year, the event will feature a first for the women’s division when Charlotte Flair challenges Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship. This will be the first time that an NXT Title will be defended at Wrestlemania.
According to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE has even bigger plans in store for the Women’s division at Wrestlemania 36.
Meltzer says that as of right now, there are 6 women’s matches scheduled for Wrestlemania 36 (including the kickoff show):
Right now the plan is for six different women’s matches on the show, adding in a Smackdown women’s title match, a tag team title rematch, a Battle Royal for one more match.
That would mean the following matches:
- Becky Lynch defending the RAW Women’s Championship.
- Bayley defending the Smackdown Women’s Championship.
- Charlotte Flair vs Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship.
- The Wrestlemania women’s battle royal.
- Asuka and Kairi Sane defending their WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.
If Meltzer is correct, it would also mean one additional women’s match on top of all those.
