Dean Ambrose leaving WWE has been a hot topic of conversation over the past several days. This comes after he expressed his displeasure with WWE’s creative process on Talk Is Jericho. It also includes his surprise appearance at AEW’s Double Or Nothing event on Saturday night.
On Wrestling Observer Radio (subscribe here), Dave Meltzer shared a tidbit about how WWE perceived Dean’s exit from the company.
Here is what he said (h/t to Sportskeeda for the quotes below):
“I can tell you from the other side of the fence, because obviously I heard the other side, while all this was going down at the end and all this [last few months of Moxley’s time in WWE], the feeling from the other side is that there was nothing they could do. Dean Ambrose is one of these guys who you just can’t make happy and that’s what it’s going to be. Time will tell [if AEW will make him happy].”
My Take: I feel like they could have given him more creative freedom in theory but that just isn’t how WWE operates. Like it or not, WWE runs through Vince and his rules.
