Chad Gable made it to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. After a fun match, Gable was defeated by Baron Corbin.
We have a rumor to pass your way about how Vince McMahon feels about Gable.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscribe here), Vince is a big fan of Gable. Here is what Meltzer wrote:
“Even though Gable is doing this gimmick that screams undercard babyface, we’re told Vince [McMahon] really likes and appreciates him and considers this a push.”
Meltzer also notes that the short jokes are not designed to make fun of Gable. Instead, these are designed to get fans behind him as a babyface.
My Take: Gable is a really talented dude and this is good news. I would really love to see him against Brock Lesnar in a ‘David vs Goliath’ type of match. I think it could be a star-making match for Gable and Brock usually kills it with smaller guys.
