Big E was a participant in the gauntlet match on Smackdown Live this week. He ended up putting on a really good match against Daniel Bryan to open the gauntlet. Big E lost the match but left many fans impressed by his performance.
We have a rumor to pass your way about Big E’s future.
Mike Johnson of PWinsider says that there has been a lot of talk lately about Big E receiving a singles push. Here is a quote (via Ringside News):
“There has been a lot of talk about giving Big E a singles push. At one point he was supposed to be The New Day representative in Money in the Bank, obviously they changed that and Kofi Kingston was in. Now Big E is back in the game, he’s in the gauntlet match. Very curious to see with that they’re going to do with Big E.”
To go along with this, there have been rumors for a few years that Vince McMahon is extremely high on Big E. Maybe Big E participating in the gauntlet match is the first sign that WWE has some big plans for him?
A singles push doesn’t have to mean a split from the New Day. Maybe this rumor could mean Big E going for a Title with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods by his side. Big E also shot down the idea of the New Day splitting on Twitter on Wednesday:
