We have a rumor to pass your way about a potential change to the WWE PPV schedule.
According to SoCalUncensored.com, there was originally planned to be a WWE PPV event in San Diego on June 16th, 2019.
This was going to be the 2019 edition of ‘WWE Backlash’. The site reports that the event has now been cancelled. Here is an excerpt with the reasons why:
“The reason for the cancellation is due to the promotion’s next Saudi Arabia event being moved to June 7, 2019, and not wanting to have pay-per-view events nine days apart according to a source in WWE.
It was also mentioned to us that some people didn’t think the optics of having a pay-per-view called Backlash immediately following what is likely to be another controversial event in Saudi Arabia would be good”
My Take: PPV events 9 days apart would feel really rushed. I am definitely hoping that this is true.
We will let you know if we hear anything more.
